With their 20th pick in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player draft, the Yankees selected Michael Reynolds, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound shortstop out of Texas A&M.
Reynolds, a 21-year-old junior, was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 30th round of last year’s draft. In 58 games this season, he hit .306/.417/.403 with just one home runs and 21 stolen bases.
This pick doesn’t blow you away because of his size, but his patience at the plate combined with his speed makes him intriguing.
