With their 22nd pick in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player draft, the Yankees selected Bret Marks, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound right handed pitcher out of Wallace State Community College.
A 20-year-old sidearmer, Marks pitched in 23 games this season and put up a 1.85 ERA with 80 strikeouts and 18 walks in 68 innings this season. His fastball isn’t much as it sits in the 87-89 mph range, but he also has a changeup and a slider that he worked on with former Met Jeff Innis.
