Yankees 2012 23rd round draft pick: Vincent Jackson

With their 23rd round pick in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player draft, the Yankees selected Vincent Jackson, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound center fielder out of Luella High School in Georgia.

Potentially the first real sign-ability case, the 18-year-old Jackson profiles as a middle-of-the-order bat. He’s a lefty with a strong arm that some teams considered as a possible pitcher. He might not have the speed to stay at center field, but has the power potential to stick as a corner outfielder.

He has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Tennessee. Don’t expect him to be an easy sign.
