BBDP July 3rd: Adonis Garcia begins career with a bang

BBDP MVP: Luke Murton- 2/4, HR. His third homerun in three games.

Triple-A Empire State: L 5-6 to Lehigh Valley. L: Delcarmen (2-4)

Chris Dickerson: 2/5, R, 2 K (.310)
Corban Joseph: 0/3, BB, K (.263)
Frankie Cervelli: 2/4, R, 2 RBI (.248) With how well Chris Stewart has done, I may have been wrong in retrospect. It is nice to have a solid backup like Cervelli in Triple-A ready to go if we need him.
Jack Cust: 1/4, R, HR (19), 2 RBI (.260)
Russel Branyan: 1/4, K (.296) No homerun? WTF!
Brandon Laird: 1/4, R, HR (5), RBI, K (.228)
Colin Curtis: 0/4, K (.252)
John Maine: 7 IP, 4 ER (6.00 ERA)

Jose Pirela: 0/5, RBI, K (.327)
Addison Maruszak: 3/5, 2 R, HR (8), 2 RBI, K (.285) Putting together a solid season as a corner infielder.
David Adams: 2/5, R, K (.284) Stay healthy stay healthy stay healthy stay healthy.
“Boilin” Zoilo Almonte: 3/5, R, HR (8), 3 RBI, K, 2 E (5) (.266) Nice four game hit streak with two homers.
Melky “Melkman 2″ Mesa: 3/5, 3 R, 2 2B, K (.280) 15 for his last 39 (.385). Keep it up Melkman.
Luke Murton: 2/4, 2 R, HR (17), 2 RBI K (.260) En fuego. 14 for his last 37 (.378), with five homers in his last 10 games, three in his last three.
Shaeffer Hall: 6.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, ER, 4 BB, 4 K (3.79 ERA) It’s too bad he doesn’t have a future as a starter because he’s an innings eating machine. He has 102 IP already this season and he threw 150 + last season. Hopefully that translates into success as a reliever.
Craig Heyer: 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 K (3.83 ERA)

High-A Tampa: L 10-6 to Dunedin. L: Cotham (1-3)

Mason Williams: 1/5, RBI (.200) Got that first hit under his belt in the last at bat.
Ramon “Ray-Flo” Flores: 2/4, R, RBI, BB, K (.296) Got left out in all of the promotions, but that’s okay because he’s only 20.
Tyler Austin: 0/2, K (.000) Replaced by the debuting Adonis Garcia.
Adonis Garcia: 1/2, R, HR (1), RBI (.500) Good way to start the career. At 27 I would hope he moves fast.

Gary Sanchez: 1/5, 2 B, RBI, 3 K (.200)
Kyle Roller: 1/5, 2 K (.247)

Low-A Charleston: W 3-2 vs Greenville. W: Brebbia (2-0) S: Goody (1)

Ben “Gam-Gam” Gamel: 2/4, SB (12) (.296) Definitely impressing people this season.
Ali Castillo: 1/4, RBI (.350) Has some PT coming his way with Gumbs on the shelf.
Casey Stevenson: 1/4 (.302)
Reymond Nunez: 0/4, R, K (.283)
Dante Bichette Jr: 0/3, BB, K, E (16) (.252) Six for his last 36 (.167). He really cooled off after that hot streak.
Cito Culver: 2/4, RBI (.208)
Cody Grice: 2/3, 2B, K (.118) I’m willing to bet he’s happy about the Mason Williams promo.
Scottie Allen: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, K, HR (5.1 ERA)
John Brebbia: 3 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 7 K (4.1 ERA) That’s a lotta strikeouts, hopefully there’s more where this came from.
Nick Goody: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 K (0.00 ERA) Excellent debut with Charleston. He wasn’t in Staten Island long, so they must have seen something they liked there.

Short Season Staten Island: L 21-7 to Aberdeen. L: Morton (0-2) Let up 11 runs in the 8th inning, when the game was already out of reach.

Taylor Dugas: 1/4, 2 R, RBI, BB (.400)
Jose Rosario: 0/4, 2 K (.186)
Matt Snyder: 2/3, R, 2B, 4 RBI, 2 BB (.178) Rebounding nicely after that ridiculously slow start. Seven for his last 10.
Ravel Santana: 1/3, R (.175) Was removed from the game late.
Danny Oh: 0/2, K (.143) Another “Oh” for
Fu-Lin Kuo: 1/5, 2B, 2 RBI, K (.400)
Isaias Tejeda: 0/4, K (.111)
Matt Duran: 2/4, R (.152)
Daniel Lopez: 1/4, R, K, SB (2) (.114)
Claudio Custodio: 1/4, R (.154)
Jeremy Bleich: 2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, HR (9.0 ERA) Good to see him back.
Taylor Morton: 2 IP, 3 H, 6 ER, 5 BB, K, HR (5.5 ERA) Not showing that he should have been on that Charleston roster.
Evan DeLuca: 2 IP, 2 H, ER, 2 BB (8.68 ERA) Repeating short season and struggling. Red flag.
Stefan Lopez: 1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 5 ER (8.53 ERA) Yikes.
Charles Basford: 0.1 IP, 2 H (8.53 ERA) These are some ugly ERA’s.

GCL Yankees: L 3-4 to the GCL Blue Jays. L: Vargas (1-1)

Jerison Lopez: 0/4, R, BB, 2 K (.404)
Peter O’Brien: 2/3, R, RBI (.667) Surprising he started in the GCL, especially with the catching vacuum created by the Sanchez promotion.
Yeicok Calderon: 2/4, BB, 2 K (.231)
Austin Jones: 1/4, RBI, K (.333)
Ericson Leonora: 2/4, RBI, K (.340)
Nathan Mikolas: 1/4, 3 K (.143)
Miguel Andujar: 0/4, E (5) (.224)
Mikeson Oliberto: 0/4 (.318)
Graham Stoneburner: 2 IP, H, R, 0 ER, K (9.0 ERA)
Giavanny Gallegos: 2 IP, H, 2 K (0.00 ERA) Got the hold. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in an expanded role as a starter when things really get going.
