BBDP July 6th: Another strong outing for Cote

BBDP MVP: Jordan Cote – 4.2 IP, 4 K, 0 ER

Triple-A Empire State: W: 8-1 vs Lehigh Valley. W: O’Connor (2-3)

Ray Kruml: 0/3, 2 BB, 2 K, SB (7), CS (2) (.224)
Corban “CoJo” Joseph: 2/4, 3 R, 2B, HR (5), RBI, BB (.275) He’s really surprised me with how good he’s been in Triple-A. 14 for his last 41 (.341)
Ronnier Mustelier: 3/5, 2 R, 2B, RBI (.303) He’s so consistent. Count me as one who thinks he would be a great utility man, maybe even more.
Brandon Laird: 1/4, RBI, 2 K (.232)
Frankie Cervelli: 1/3, BB (.251)
Manny Delcarmen: 2 IP, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K (3.72 ERA)

Double-A Trenton: W 7-1 vs New Britain. W: Nuno (4-1)

Jose Pirela: 2/5, 2 R, 2B, HR (5), RBI (.322) As mediocre as his minor league career has been, he’s a 22 year old in Double-A and he’s tearing the cover off the ball. Good for you Jose.
Addison Maruszak: 1/5, R, K (.286)
David “Dadams” Adams: 3/4, 2 R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, BB (.307) He’s back. Between him and CoJo, all of a sudden this organization has some really solid depth at second base.
“Boilin” Zoilo Almonte: 4/5, R (.282) Lookout, second half Zoilo Almonte is in full effect. 13 for his last 42 (.310), slugging .500 in the last 10 games.
Melky Mesa: 0/4, BB, 3 K (.271) People have been excited about him as of late, but the book on him is he can’t hit an off speed pitch and strikes out too much.
Luke Murton: 1/3, 2 RBI, BB, K (.259)
Rob Segedin: 0/4, 2 K (.000) Still hitless in Double-A.
Vidal Nuno: 6 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 10 K, HR (1.22 ERA) Okay, he’s had a good run now. Let’s get him to Triple-A to see what we’ve got and decide if he’s worth a 40 man roster spot now so we can keep him after this season. If not, he could be the next Jose Quintana.
Craig Heyer: 1 IP, H, 0 ER (3.73 ERA)

High-A Tampa: L 2-10 to Brevard County. L: Dott (2-3)

Mason “Mad Mase” Williams: 2/5, R, K (.211)
Ramon Flores: 1/4, R (.293)
Adonis Garcia: 1/4, RBI (.143)
Slade Heathcott: 1/3, BB (.267) Another walk, gotta love it.
Kyle Roller: 1/3, 2B, BB (.249)
Anderson Feliz: 1/4, 2B (.313)
Jose “J-Ram” Ramirez: 3.2 IP, 2 H, ER, 2 BB, 5 K (3.75 ERA) Boy it’s good to see him back and striking out a ton of people.
Mark Montgomery: 0.1 IP, H, 0 ER, K (1.42 ERA)

Low-A Charleston: L 0-1 to Savannah in the bottom of the 10th. L:Checo (7-2)

Ben Gamel: 0/4 (.286)
Ali Castillo: 1/4, K (.351)
Reymond Nunez: 0/3, BB (.276) 8 for his last 38. Slumping without all of that protection after the promotions.
Dante Bichette Jr: 1/4, K (.252)
Cito Culver: 0/4, 2 K (.209)
Matt Bashore: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K (1.45 ERA) He’s been a nice surprise as a converted reliever this season.
Phil Wetherell: 2 IP, 0 Er, BB (5.98 ERA) A much needed scoreless two innings.

Short Season Staten Island: W 3-0 vs Jamestown. W: Benak (1-1) S: Garrison (2)

Taylor Dugas: 1/2, 2 BB (.370) .540 OBP in 14 games, out of this world. At least one walk in the last seven games.
Jose Rosario: 0/4, K (.164) He, Ravel Santana, Isaias Tejeda, Matt Duran, Claudio Custodio, and Danny Lopez have been very, very disappointing so far. That’s a lot of prospects to have great GCL seasons and start extremely slow in Short Season Low-A.
Saxon Butler: 0/2, 2 BB (.344)
Ravel Santana: 0/3, BB, 2 K (.174)
Exicardo Cayones: 1/3, R, BB (.278)
Isaias Tejeda: 0/3, R, BB, K (.125)
Matt Duran: 1/4, R, 2 K (.153)
Danny Lopez: 2/4, 3B, 3 RBI, SB (4) (.167) Hopefully this game will build some momentum.
Claudio Custodio: 0/3, BB, K (.170)
Jeremy Bleich: 2 IP, H, BB, 2 K (4.5 ERA) I would imagine he’ll be moved up soon.
Andrew Benak: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, BB, 3 K (2.77) Excellent.
James Pazos: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 Er, BB, K (1.5 ERA) The college guys are really carrying this team.
Taylor Garrison: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER (2.79 ERA) Point and case.

GCL Yankees: L 0-7 vs GCL Tigers. L: Stoneburner (0-1)

Jerison Lopez: 0/4, K (.375)
Yeicok Calderon: 0/4, E (1) (.182)
Austin Jones: 0/4, E (2) (.290)
Ericson Leonora: 0/3 (.352)
Peter O’Brien: 0/2, K (.357) Removed after the 7th inning for David Remedios.
Jorge Alcantara: 1/2, BB, K (.324)
Justin James: 1/3 (.154)
Graham Stoneburner: 2 IP, H, R, 0 ER, K (6.00 ERA)
Jordan Cote: 4.2 IP, 4 H, R, 0 ER, BB, 4 K (1.45 ERA). He looks solid in every appearance so far. If he keeps this up he’ll start appearing on Yankees top prospects lists.
Adam Smith: 1.1 IP, 2 BB, 2 K (0.00 ERA)
