Tired of Russell Martin‘s .179/.300/.348 first half line? Yankees fans are better off getting used to it because it doesn’t sound like they are planning a change anytime soon.
“We have our catching,” Cashman told Marc Carig of the Star-Ledger. “I believe in Russell Martin, period.”
Of course there are reasons to be optimistic about Martin. His plate discipline and power have remained consistant and his BABIP (.190) is the lowest in the Majors. So while it looks like he may be sticking around longer than most Yankees fans would want, it is possible that things turn around a bit in the second half.
