Darnell McDonald, we hardly knew ye

If Bald Vinny made a t-shirt that said, ‘I played four games with the Yankees and all I have to show for it is this hair-cut,’ he would probably sell just one – to Darnell McDonald.

The former Red Sox outfielder with dreadlocks who isn’t Manny Ramirez was picked up off waivers by the Yankees and was designated for assignment (to clear a roster spot for CC Sabathia) less than two weeks later after going 0-for-4 in just four games.

The only reason he was ever even picked up in the first place is because the Yankees had four games in three days and two of those games were against lefties. Now he’s gone and all he has to show for it is a much nicer hair cut.
