Swisher will sit out against the Red Sox Friday night

Nick Swisher has already missed a week with a strained hip flexor and it appears he will miss at least one more game as he is not expected to play tonight against the Red Sox, according to George King of the NY Post.

Swisher took batting practice and ran the bases on Thursday. It sounds as if he thinks he’s ready to go, but the Yankees are being cautious. He could be back on Saturday.

Swisher has missed five games in total so far and the Yankees are just 2-3 in that span. They have struggled offensively without him and scored just 16 runs or 3.2 runs per game without him.
