The Yankee beat: trade deadline, Teixeira, and Hughes

The Yankees had their chances, but like they have many times over the past two weeks they lost a very close game to the Orioles 5-4 behind a decent performance from Freddy Garcia. It has now been eight loses in the last 11 games. Here is the recap and graph.

Here is what the Yankees blogosphere has been discussing.

• The Captain’s Blog takes a look at a couple of past trade deadlines when the Yankees were sellers and not buyers. There weren’t many.

• It’s About the Money…Stupid says that Mark Teixeira‘s pull happy approach was never his problem.

• The Yankee Analysts suggests that the Yankees should attempt to sell high with Phil Hughes this offseason. Considering he’s close to free agency that might not be a bad idea.
