BBDP August 23rd: Refsnyder goes wild

BBDP MVP: Robert Refsnyder: 3/5, 2 HR, 3 RBI, BB, SB

Triple-A Empire State: W: 4-3 vs Buffalo. W: Wade (2-0)

Chris Dickerson: 2/4, 2 R, 2 2B, 2 BB, K, SB (16) (.316) I don’t know if these stats mean anything at all, but I’m excited to see him get some at bats in September.
Corban “CoJo” Joseph: 2/5, 3 RBI, K (.265)
Ed Nunez: 0/5, 2 K (.227)
Brandon Laird: 1/5, K (.254)
Frankie Cervelli: 0/5, K (.248)
Melky “Melkman 2.0″ Mesa: 2/5, R, 2B, HR (6), RBI, 3 K (.253) That’s an even 20 HR on the season.
Cory Wade: 2 IP, H, 0 ER, 2 K (2.51 ERA)

Double-A Trenton: W 3-0 vs Akron. W: Nuno (8-5) S: Pope (5)

Adonis Garcia: 0/4 (.233)
JR “Murph” Murphy: 2/4 (.234) 10 for his last 34 (.294) with a homerun and five doubles. Starting to make the adjustment to Double-A. Despite the not so great numbers, I still have high hopes for him for next season. Nine homeruns on the season isn’t half bad for a catcher who will be 21 to start next season in Double-A.
David Adams: 0/4, K, E (9) (.311)
Zoilo “Zee” Almonte: 3/4, 2 R, 2B (.283) 13 for his last 34 (.382) with two homers, a triple and three doubles. He’s even drawn four walks during that time, which has been a huge knock on him. He has improved by leaps and bounds this season and will be 23 to start next season in Triple-A.
Luke Murton: 1/3, R, BB (.249)
Addison Maruszak: 1/4, RBI, 2 K (.276)
Kevin Mahoney: 1/3, K (.245)

Vidal Nuno: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, BB, 3 K (2.45 ERA)
Mark “Monty” Montgomery: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, BB, 3 K (2.37 ERA) He’ll make a push for the bullpen next year if it looks like it does now.

High-A Tampa: L 5-9 vs Dunedin. L: Tracy (5-6)

Ramon “Ray-Flo” Flores: 3/3, 2 R, 2 2B, 2 BB (.296) Real deal alert. 21 year old in Double-A next year.
Slade Heathcott: 2/4, 2 2B, RBI, 2 K (.309) Four legit prospects in Double-A’s outfield next season, hooray for that.
Tyler Austin: 1/5, R, RBI, K (.327)
Kyle “K-Roll” Roller: 2/5, 2 R, 3B, RBI (.269)
Gary Sanchez: 1/4, RBI, E (3) (.277) Holding his own.
Matt Tracy: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, HR (3.35 ERA) Cooling down a bit, but he could just be tiring out. 45 more innings than last season.
Manuel Barreda: 1.1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, K (3.5 ERA)
Jeremy Bleich: 2.1 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, BB, K (2.51 ERA)
Tom Kahnle: 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 4 K (2.38 ERA)

Low-A Charleston: W: 10-9 vs Lexington. W: Smith (1-0)

Cito Culver: 2/6, 2 R, 3B, K (.221)
Robert “The Ref” Refsnyder: 3/5, 4 R, 2 HR (3), 3 RBI, BB, K, SB (7) (.222) Big game. It’d be nice to see him string together five or six good ones in a row.
Ben “Gam-Gam” Gamel: 3/6, R, 2 RBI, K, SB (18), CS (7) (.299)
Saxon Butler: 2/4, R, HR (3), 2 RBI, BB, K (.268)

Brett Gerritse: 5 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K (4.03 ERA)
Daniel Mahoney: 2 IP, H, 0 ER, BB, 2 K (3.53 ERA)

Short Season Staten Island: W 10-1 vs Vermont. W: Benak (3-5)

Taylor Dugas: 3/4, 2 R, 2B, RBI, SB (4) (.330) Looking forward to seeing him in full season. I’m beating a dead horse but he needs to find another useful tool.
Claudio Custodio: 1/5, R, RBI, 3 K (.254)
Peter O’Brien: 2/5, 2 R, 2B, HR (8), 3 RBI, K (.199) Five homeruns in his lat 7 games.
Ravel Santana: 0/4, 3 K (.233)
Daniel Lopez: 0/3, R, BB, K (.214) Big step back, but stats aren’t nearly as meaningful in the short season leagues. Hopefully he can find more consistency for next season.
Jose Rosario: 1/4, RBI, E (14) (.219)
Andrew Benak: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, BB, 2 K (4.59 ERA)

Ericson Leonora: 1/4, R, HR (7), RBI, 2 K (.224) The power is good, consistency is a key for him.
Greg Bird: 1/3, 2B, RBI, BB, K (.283) The bat is as advertised.
Miguel Andujar: 0/4 (.231)
Yeicok Calderon: 1/3, R, HR (8), RBI (.273)
Jerison Lopez: 1/3 (.329)
Pedro Feliciano: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER (0.00 ERA)
Ty Hensley: 2.2 IP, H, 0 ER, BB, 3 K (3.00 ERA) Game was cut short by rain after his appearance.
Kenedy Agramonte: 3.1 IP, H, ER, 4 K, HR (2.25 ERA)
Rich Mascheri: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, BB (0.00 ERA)
Edison Mejia: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, K (3.10 ERA)

Game Two: L 2-5 vs GCL Tigers. L: Sharp (1-1) This loss makes it almost guaranteed they don’t make the playoffs now, which is a shame because the pitchers could use the extra innings.

Mikeson Oliberto: 0/4, RBI, K (.274)
Austin Aune: 1/4, K (.273)
Ericson Leonora: 1/3, R, K (.226)

Dayton Dawe: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER (3.38 ERA)
