In 28 games since joining the Yankees, Ichiro Suzuki has been pretty good. In addition to speed on the bases and great defense in the outfield he has also hit .300/.320/.460, but it’s been at Yankee Stadium where he has done most of his damage.
Small sample size caveats apply, but Ichiro has hit .358/.370/.604 in the Bronx and just .234/.265/.298 while wearing the road grays.
Like I said, it’s just a small sample size, but it appears that Ichiro loves aiming for the short porch in right. He’s already launched three homers out there in just 15 games. Pretty amazing considering that he hit just nine other homers in the other 269 games he’s played in over the last two year.
Always a bit of a pull hitter, just take a look at his hit charts since joining the Yankees. Is he aiming for the short porch or what?
