Pettitte and A-Rod getting closer to return

The Yankees are getting closer to getting Alex Rodriguez (hand) and Andy Pettitte (ankle) back from the DL as both got good news this week.

A-Rod took x-rays earlier in the week which showed that his hand has healed enough to the point where he can take off his brace. He’s begun hittin goff a tee and should be in a rehab game sometime within the next two weeks.

Pettitte also had x-rays taken this week which showed that he is ready to long toss this week and could run and be on a mound sometime next week.

A-Rod will probably beat Pettitte back to the Bronx, but both should be ready to go by the middle of September with no further setbacks.
