Yankees continue to slide as they drop the series against Toronto

CC Sabathia didn’t have his good fastball today, but pitched well enough where the Yankees would typically be able to pull out a win. However, thanks to three errors, a two-run shot in the 6th, and a bad bullpen the Yankees lost to the Blue Jays 8-5 at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees have now gone 3-3 against the Indians and Blue Jays over their last six since getting swept by the White Sox. Their lead in the AL East drops to just three games and could end up lower by this evening as the Orioles take on the White Sox. The Rays, who are currently 4.5 back, are playing the Rangers later on tonight as well.

One Response to Yankees continue to slide as they drop the series against Toronto

  1. Wynn Hasty says:

How about doing a piece on Kevin Long. Is he really that good a hiting coach? it seems the Yankee hitters can't hit singles especially with RISP and can't move runners over. It is frustrating to see all these other teams also ran players drive in runs. Don't the yankees have some young players in Double A or Triple a who can hit ; seems as if Dickenson; Mustlier; david Adams etc would be better tha what they have now. They seem to be a tea of aging guys who have run out of gas with a couple of exceptions; they never seem to give young players a chance..
