Yankees get swept by the White Sox

It certainly wasn’t a pretty couple of days in Chicago for the Yankees as they were swept by the White Sox in three games despite an amazing series by Derek Jeter.

Monday was probably the most miserable as the Yankees blew two leads and wasted a six-run performance by the offense. Tuesday saw the continued downfall of young pitcher Ivan Nova and then Wednesday they were beaten by one of the most impressive young pitchers in baseball in Chris Sale.

The most troubling part of the series was that the Yankees allowed the Rays to gain ground on them and are now only three games up in the AL East. Then there is also the fact that the White Sox, a potential playoff opponent, won the season series 5-2.
