Teixeira at least another week away from a return

It’s already been a full week since Mark Teixeira suffered a setback to his injured calf and it could be at least another week before he returns to action.

“I don’t think he’s close to getting back here,” Yankees GM Brian Cashman told Sirius XM radio. “I think we’ll have a chance to get him back before the season’s over … maybe the Toronto series on the road, which is a little ways down the line here in that last week of the season.”

Cashman was talking about a series that starts next Thursday. Hopefully Teixeira can make it back by then because after that the Yankees have just one more series left at home against the Red Sox. If he has any more setbacks at all between now and then it could mean that the Yankees risk playing playoff games without their star first baseman.
