Yankees designate Ramiro Pena for assignment

Among the Yankees September call-ups was outfielder Chris Dickerson, who wasn’t on the 40-man roster. To make room for him they designated infielder Ramiro Pena for assignment, according to Peter Botte of the NY Daily News.

Pena played just three games for the Yankees this year and hit his typical .250/.250/.250. I would normally attribute that to small sample size, but those numbers are actually pretty close to his career norms. He’ll probably pass through waivers and stay in the Yankees organization unless there is a team out there in a real emergency.
