A-Rod and Granderson still on the bench

The rain may have forced the Yankees and Tigers to delay Game 4 of the ALCS, but it didn’t do anything to get Joe Girardi to put benched stars Alex Rodriguez or Curtis Granderson back in the lineup.

“It’s not like anything’s changed overnight,” Girardi told Chad Jennings of the Journal News. “You look at what you look at on a daily basis and it’s not like it’s changed.”

Nothing else has changed either. It’s still CC Sabathia vs Max Scherzer. The rest of the lineup from last night is the same too with Brett Gardner playing center field, Nick Swisher batting second and Eduardo Nunez at shortstop.

Despite the total lack of faith Girardi has shown A-Rod, the Yankees skipper said the thought that he might not be on next year’s team hasn’t even crossed his mind. Although, I wouldn’t expect him to admit it even if it had they are still playing baseball after all.

If there's a big at bat against Coke I pinch hit Alex. He is 3 – 5 with a walk and no Ks against lefties as opposed to (good god) 0 – 18 with a walk and 12 Ks against righties.

Yankees lose it is likely Swisher's last game in pinstripes, and maybe even Alex and Granderson (if they decide to sell low). I think Ichiro has a better chance of coming back.
