Morning Bits: Jeter, Cano, Wang, Hafner, Youkilis, and Montgomery

It was a light day for the Yankees yesterday. The offense took batting practice and ran some infield drills. Most of the pitching staff had the day off.

Derek Jeter went through infield drills and batting practice, but did not run the bases.

• Chien-Ming Wang‘s agent said he’s off the market until he pitches for Taiwan in the WBC.

Travis Hafner hit the first homer of the spring during BP, but did not participate infield drills. He’s a strict DH.

• Check out Kevin Youkilisnew stance.

• Righty relief prospect Mark Montgomery will miss a couple of days with a strained back.

• Single game tickets go pre-sale Feb. 27 and on-sale March 5.

The Yankees have been rumored to be keeping tabs on CMW. They do have five starters already plus David Phelps, but Joe Girardi recently said that Ivan Nova would have to compete for a job. Perhaps CMW can be this year’s Freddy Garcia.
