Yankees invite 44 non-roster players to spring training


The Yankees have officially announced their list of non-roster invites to spring training with few surprises this week. Among the list is the obvious veterans on minor league deals: Matt Diaz, Juan Rivera, Dan Johnson, Bobby Wilson, and Thomas Neal with a list of minor leaguers that will get a chance to see what big league camp is like.

Among the minor leaguers the biggest names will be Slade Heathcott, Tyler Austin and Gary Sanchez. Mason Williams was not invited, but that probably has to do with the fact that he’s recovering from shoulder surgery. Cito Culver will be there, but he’s really a prospect in name only at this point.

Of course every player on the 40-man roster will be there as well. Here is the entire list after the jump:
