Ivan Nova: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K (0.00 ERA) I do not believe Ivan Nova is a AAAA player. I think he’s better than that. I do think playing down here for a bit is going to be a good thing for him though, much like it has been in the past. He’s got to get back to what got him to the show to begin with.
David Huff: 3.0, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 K (3.62 ERA)

Double-A Trenton: W 10-6 at Binghamton. W: Mikey O’Brien (4-0)

  1. Mike Baker says:

Is there any chance Nova will be a 2 starter anymore or a very good three? i don't think so.

    • Corethree says:

If Hughes can get away with doing whatever the hell he's doing, i'd say there was a good chance Nova can be a #2 starter. The Yankees expectations don't seem to be as high as what we are used to.

    • I really don't think we should be that worried about Nova becoming a No. 2 right now. Maybe in time he can, but in the immediate future he has to secure his No. 5 spot in the rotation or risk being moved to the bullpen permanently. The uncertain future of Andy Pettitte, Hiroki Kuroda, and Phil Hughes, all free agents after this season, does mean he should have plenty of chances to hang in there though.

  2. Jimmy says:

And what of the bouncing back and forth Vidal Nuno, who has given the Yanks two great starts?
