The Staten Island Yankees fell to the visiting Hudson Valley Renegades 10-8 in a rain shortened game. In the sixth inning flashes of lightening began to appear and the down pour started but it wasn’t until the middle of the seventh inning that the umpires called for the tarp to be pulled.
Staten Island Yankees right-hander Giovanny Gallegos got the start for the Baby Bombers. He had one of the worst starts of his career allowing 7 runs, 6 earned, on 8 hits.
Derek Toadvine was lead it off for Staten Island, he was hitless in the game with a walk and run scored.
Left-fielder Michael O’Neill was in the number 2 spot in the line up. He added two hits to his season total, raising his batting average to .324.
