Agnew-Wieland had a 5.15 ERA, 71 strikeouts and 43 walks in 85.2 innings this season. He throws a low-90’s fastball, a slider, curve, and changeup. He primarily a reliever at Georgia State and became a starter at Middle Georgia College. He continued as a starter at Appalachian State.
He doesn’t seem like much because of his 5.15 ERA, but he had a nice uptick in his stuff from his first to second years in college. Perhaps he’ll continue to develop even further with a professional coaching staff and surprise us. If he can really top out at 95 mph, which some reports say, he could be a sleeper.
