Mariano Rivera to be honored before Game 2 of World Series

Major League Baseball will honor Yankees closer Mariano Rivera during Game 2 of the World Series, tonight at Fenway Park. Rivera will be awarded the Commissioners Historic Achievement Award during tonight’s pregame ceremony.

The Commissioners Historic Achievement Award was created to recognize the achievements of historical significance. The last award was handed out in 2011 to Ken Griffey Jr.

Tonight’s pregame begins at 7:30 p.m. and a first pitch of the Game 2 World Series is at 8:07 p.m.
