Five Yankees file for arbitration

Today was a small deadline for Major League Baseball: the day where players file for arbitration. Although figures aren’t to be exchanged until Friday and arbitration hearings aren’t until February, most players usually avoid arbitration before it reaches an arbitrator.

The Yankees currently have five players that filed for arbitration earlier today. MLB Trade Rumors (which is usually very accurate when it comes to predicting the salary a player would get from arbitration) gave their figures on what the Yankees players are expected to earn in 2014.

Francisco Cervelli
Eligibility: First year eligible
Role: Backup Catcher
Expected To Earn: $1 Million
