Derek Jeter usually has an answer for everything, ranging from how he’s feeling on the field to his thoughts on a new teammate joining the ball club for the new year. But the one thing Jeter can’t really tell you is if Alex Rodriguez will show up to Spring Training camp.
Rodriguez, who was suspended for the entire 2014 season including the postseason, has made it clear in the past that he plans on attending Spring Training, but Jeter is uncertain whether his teammate has changed his mind or if he still plans to show.
Jeter says “I have no idea” and adds “you’d have to ask him.”
Baseball’s drug rules state the player cannot be with the team during the regular season and the postseason, but the rules exempt Spring Training. However, it is likely the Yankees wouldn’t want Rodriguez to be at camp on February 14th, in fear Rodriguez would cause a media circus.
