Here are some notes and tidbits to end another day of Spring Training:
— The Yankees released their rotation for the rest of the week, up until the off-day on Monday. Masahiro Tanaka will take a bus ride to Fort Meyers on Saturday to play the Minnesota Twins while Hiroki Kuroda will pitch in a minor league game on the same day. Here’s the rest of the rotation:
— Joe Girardi says it’s unlikely Jacoby Ellsbury will play on Thursday and it seems more unlikely he’ll play on Friday. Ellsbury says the calf still feels a little tight, which has earned slight concern from the Yankees.
He’s still day-to-day,” Girardi said. “The one thing is, you want to make sure guys are completely healthy before they come back. I don’t really have a day (in mind for him to return). … Once he tells me he doesn’t feel anything, maybe it’s a day or two after that.”
— Brendan Ryan will return to the field on Thursday night when the Yankees face the Red Sox at Fort Meyers. Ryan has been out since last week with an oblique/back injury.
