Ivan Nova 3

Ivan Nova had a bad yet effective start his last outing, but this time he was all bad as he only went 3.2 innings in a 14-5 loss to the Baltimore Orioles at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

Nova gave up seven runs on 10 hits with 3 strikeouts in 3.2 innings of work before he was lifted for Cesar Cabral, Vidal Nuno and Dellin Betances. Cabral gave up one hit in a scoreless outing, Nuno gave up seven runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings and Betances pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless ball.

The Yankees were down 3-0 in the first inning but Carlos Beltran got the Yankees on the board with an RBI double, scoring Jacoby Ellsbury. In the bottom of the fourth, Alfonso Soriano connected for his first home run of the season, Yangervis Solarte had an RBI double scoring Francisco Cervelli and Brett Gardner had an RBI ground out, plating Brian Roberts. The Yankees scored their final run of the game on a Kelly Johnson home run in the eighth inning. Johnson replaced Roberts in the lineup an inning earlier.

  1. Robert says:

I couldn't be the Yankees' manager because I wouldn't give the ball to a pitcher I had no confidence in and most of NY's pitchers fall into that category. Yes the season is still young, but in some ways it's like an extension of 2013.
