Yankees vs. Cubs postponed

Yankee Stadium 3

Well, it looks like the Yankees will get one more day to rest their players.

The Yankees vs. Cubs game has been postponed due to inclement weather, meaning the Yankees and Cubs will play a day/night doubleheader tomorrow. Masahiro Tanaka was slated to pitch tonight but with the recent rain out, it’s uncertain which game he will pitch. The other issue was the game was slated to be on My9 tonight, so another question is broadcasting.

The Yankees will move their ceremony for Jackie Robinson and Nelson Mandela to tomorrow during pre-game (not sure which game as of yet). Fans that had tickets to tonight’s game can either go to the 1:05 p.m. game tomorrow or go to the box office to exchange their tickets for a later date.

Since the Yankees DH is happening in less than 48 hours, both teams are not allowed to bring up a 26th player. However, the Yankees are slated to make a roster move regarding Francisco Cervelli, which will most likely be Russ Canzler and John Ryan Murphy.
