With Michael Pineda‘s suspension finally over, the Yankees now have a 25-man roster–but having 25-men on the roster comes with a price.
The Yankees have officially activated Brendan Ryan from the disabled list and have placed Michael Pineda on the 15-day disabled list. Pineda has a Grade 1 strain in his teres major muscle. The good news is Michael Pineda is slated to begin a throwing program on Friday, so he should be back in the next 2-3 weeks. Now the question is, where will the Yankees find playing time for Ryan? Will they give a slumping Derek Jeter a day-off during the road-trip for Ryan to get his first at-bats of 2014? I imagine so, but for now let’s enjoy Ryan actually being off the DL–and healthy!
