Yankees on wrong end of walk-off as they fall 6-5 to Brewers

David Phelps 3

The Yankees were able to score a run off Francisco Rodriguez in the top of the 9th inning, but the Milwaukee Brewers quickly ruined the Yankees rally by starting a rally of their own, with the Bronx Bombers falling to the Brew Crew 6-5 at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

David Phelps was brilliant his last time out but this time he went five plus, giving up four runs on eight hits with three walks. He ran into trouble in the third and later in the sixth, in which Joe Girardi brought in Matt Thornton, Dellin Betances and Adam Warren. The Yankees scored three runs in the first inning but the offense was stifled until the eighth and ninth innings, the big blow coming from the bat of Mark Teixeira to tie the game at five off K-Rod. The Yankees dropped the last two games of the series and are now coming home with a six game road trip split.

Hate losing the game on an 0-2 pitch, of all things.

I watched this game and think that both sides played well. Hopefully our Yankees have better luck in the next games…
