Cano and Mariners back for one night only

Robinson Cano 24

Robinson Cano and the Seattle Mariners seem to have some unfinished business with the New York Yankees as they come into town for one night only to finish a three game series that started in April.

The Yankees had lost the first two games of the series and they plan on trying to salvage the final game of the home series tonight. However, their task is rather daunting; they face Felix Hernandez, who once again is having a brilliant season. The Yankees will send David Phelps to the mound who was great his last time out, but unfortunately got the loss.

Here’s something worth mentioning: It’s unsure whether Robinson Cano will actually play for the Mariners tonight. He’s battling a bruised hand injury and while he’s closer to returning to the Mariners lineup, he might sit this final game out.

I’ll have the pitching matchup post later in the afternoon (it’s a rather short one since there’s only one game between these two teams), but all I’ll say until then is you’ll be quite surprised with who has good numbers against King Felix. I’ll let you guess among yourselves, but you’ll find out the answer this afternoon.

I was really hoping we'd avoid King Felix…we really need some offense…

not only do the yanks have to face king felix, but in phelps last two starts the yanks scored a conbined grand total of two runs.

Well, looks like a Seattle sweep. All Yanks need is some pitching and hitting and they'll be in good shape.
