The good news? The Yankees finally scored more than three runs. The bad news? They scored all their runs in one inning, the pitching gave up the lead and the Yankees ultimately lost their fourth straight game with a 7-4 loss at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.
The Yankees scored their four runs in the third inning on an Ichiro Suzuki walk, a Brett Gardner single, a Derek Jeter RBI single and a Jacoby Ellsbury three run home run which looked to change the game for the Yankees. However, they were unable to hold onto the lead.
Vidal Nuno went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on six hits while striking out five, Matt Daley gave up two runs while recording only one out, Matt Thornton threw a scoreless inning for the Yankees, Jose Ramirez pitched two innings while giving up a run and Wade LeBlanc gave up two runs in an inning of work.
— The Yankees are relying on Masahiro Tanaka to help the Yankees salvage a game on this home stand before they head off to Kansas City. First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. and the game will air on the YES Network.
