CC Sabathia has his second rehab start

CC Sabathia 7

CC Sabathia had his second rehab start for Double-A Trenton and although we’re not supposed to focus on the numbers, it was kind of alarming to see Sabathia’s final line.

In 3.2 innings, Sabathia gave up five runs (three earned) on five hits, one walk and one hit by pitch. For those interested in velocity, Sabathia’s fastball was in between 88-90 MPH with his fastball topping out at 91 MPH.

There’s no update on Sabathia’s knee but Joe Girardi said he’s going to pitch every five days from here on out. Sabathia should be three to four starts removed from returning to the rotation.
