McCarthy goes the distance in 3-0 victory over Astros

The Yankees needed a win and Brandon McCarthy was determined to give them one. The Yankees just needed McCarthy to pitch at the most seven innings, but McCarthy did one better when he pitched a complete game shutout resulting in a 3-0 victory over the Houston Astros at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

The Yankees scored their three runs in the second inning on a Chase Headley two-run double and a Ichiro Suzuki SAC Fly.

Brandon McCarthy pitched a shutout but just how good was he? He only gave up four hits and struck out eight.

What’s Next?

The Yankees begin a three game series against the Chicago White Sox in the Bronx and they will send Shane Greene to the mound to oppose John Danks. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and the game will air on My9.
