The Yankees had their chances in the beginning of the game, especially since they were up 3-1 against the Orioles. However, the Orioles answered back with 10 unanswered runs, giving the Yankees a 11-3 loss at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Yankees scored their first run on a lead-off triple by Brett Gardner and a RBI ground out by Derek Jeter. In the second inning, Carlos Beltran and Chase Headley pulled off a double steal, Beltran stealing home and Headley stealing second base. Headley scored on the same play due to a throwing error by Manny Machado and an error by Bud Norris.

Chris Capuano had a decent outing for the Yankees, giving up four runs on six hits while striking out seven in six innings of work. However, the Yankees bullpen gave the Yankees offense no chance of coming back in the game. Adam Warren gave up three runs on three hits in his inning of work, Chase Whitley gave up four runs on five hits while only recording two outs and Rich Hill was the only pitcher to not give up a run, retiring the only batter he faced.

What’s Next?

— It’s easy being Greene…Shane Greene, that is. Greene will take the ball with hopes of repeating his last outing, where he pitched eight scoreless innings. Wei-Yin Chen will take the mound for the Orioles. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and the game will air on My9.
