Here are a few notes before the Yankees play the second game of the three game set against the Cleveland Indians this afternoon:

Brian McCannAfter last night’s concussion episode, the Yankees will put Brian McCann on the 7-day concussion disabled list. As a corresponding move, the Yankees have called up Austin Romine from Scranton Wilkes-Barre and Brian Roberts was released to clear up a roster spot for Romine.

Mark TeixeiraMark Teixeira took swings off a tee earlier this afternoon and it went better than yesterday, considering yesterday he was unable to take swings due to his pinky hurting him.

“He took swings and he felt better,” Joe Girardi said. “Hopefully it’s not much longer with him.”

Michael PinedaMichael Pineda went 4.1 innings while giving up one run on six hits and striking out seven. He threw 72 pitches in his outing. Pineda feels he’s ready to take the mound for the Yankees and it will be up to the Yankees to decide when he comes back. If the Yankees feel he’s ready, it could be on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles.
