It’s no secret the entire 2014 season was surrounded around Derek Jeter‘s “Farewell Tour”, and during the month of September, it was no exception. Jeter ended his Yankees career in style, notching a game-winning RBI single in his final game at Yankee Stadium and hitting one last infield single on the final game of the season against the Boston Red Sox.
However, one of the moments that couldn’t be forgotten is ‘Derek Jeter Day’, which took place on September 7, 2014 and was an entire pregame ceremony dedicated to Derek Jeter. Mariano Rivera had one prior to his retirement in 2013, and Jeter followed in Rivera’s footsteps, accepting gifts from the Yankees and thanking the fans for their never ending support for the last 19 seasons.
Above is the entire pregame ceremony for those that would like to watch it again or missed it when it was live the first time. If you haven’t seen it, then you should because it was one ceremony you wouldn’t want to forget.
