Former New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada and his wife Laura are attempting to recover $11.2 Million in lost earnings because of “egregious and unlawful” actions by their ex-financial advisers, according to a lawsuit they filed in Miami.
However, while the couple filed a lawsuit, there’s a huge chance the case won’t make it to court as the two sides are currently working on a settlement.
The Posada’s believe they deserve at least $11.2 Milion because they were duped by the defendants Juan Carlos Collar and Anthony Fernandez, who took advantage of the lack of knowledge the Posada’s had in the business of investing. Posada’s wife, Laura has a law degree according to her website.
According to BaseballReference.com, Posada made more than $117 Million during his career with the New York Yankees.
