Andy Pettitte

Mark your calendars because this summer Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter will have someone else from the “Core Four” join them in Monument Park!

Josh Pettitte (Andy Pettitte‘s son) tweeted the Yankees were to make August 23rd “Andy Pettitte” day where they will retire Pettitte’s No. 46 and where Pettitte will have a plaque in Monument Park.

Pettitte played for 18 seasons (15 with the Yankees, 3 with the Houston Astros) where he went 256-153 with a 3.85 ERA and a 1.351 WHIP.

instead of retiring his number, why not try to lure him out of retirement? the way this staff stacks up, he woukd easily slot in as the #3 starter. oh yeah, but then hal would actually have to open his wallet to improve the rotation…..

An amazing humble man and a much deserved honor! Congratulations to a pitcher that is missed by many!
