Bullpen does the job as Yanks beat Orioles 5-4

Andrew+Miller+Baltimore+Orioles+v+New+York+ZrYJe6_4VCElOn a night when Adam Warren couldn’t get through five innings, the bullpen stepped up and gave the Yankees the chance for victory, beating the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

The Yankees scored three runs n the first inning on a SAC Fly by Alex Rodriguez and a two-run home run by Brian McCann. The Yankees tacked on two more runs in the third inning on a Carlos Beltran two-run double.

Adam Warren went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and striking out two. Justin Wilson gave up two runs in an inning of work, Chris Martin pitched a scoreless inning, Dellin Betances pitched 1.1 scoreless innings and Andrew Miller pitched a scoreless ninth, picking up his 13th save of the season.

What’s Next?

— The Yankees play a Saturday matinee as Chase Whitley takes the mound for the Yankees in place of the injured Masahiro Tanaka. First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. and the game will air on the YES Network.

    Warren battles, but he's not really a starter.

    Whitley looks a lot better in that roll.

    With Tanaka continuing to show progress and Nova seems to also be making progress June looks to be bright. Who knows what the future of ths season holds but right now I think no team in the AL has a brighter potential for the rest of the season.
    Barring injuries, in late June with Warren back in the pen and Nova and Tanaka back in the rotation most games could become 5 inning to make your case for whatever team the Yanks play.
