— The Yankees have optioned RHP Chris Martin to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre.

— The Yankees have called up both RHP Bryan Mitchell and RHP Branden Pinder from Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre.

— The Yankees have placed RHP Sergio Santos on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to 6/15) with right elbow inflammation.

Chris Martin is LHP? There's more switch pitchers out there than I thought.

Happy Pinder is back. Wonder if Mitchell is not being showcased a bit?

    • Hopefully not any more than Shane Greene or Zach McAllister. Still wish that the NYY didn't trade away Lamar Hoyt (5th Rd-NYY 1973), Scott McGregor (1st Rd-NYY 1972) or Lou Burdette (1947 NYY Free Agent). I hate trades like that.

Not sure I follow you, Frank. The Yankees are said to be flirting with the Reds for Cueto and/or Leake, and Mitchell has been mentioned. I'd take Cueto for Mitchell, not that I think Mitchell gets that deal done. Shane Greene hasn't shown much since the first few starts. That's a good trade.

    An improvement
