While the Yankees were busy on the field yesterday, the front office was just as busy making roster moves. Just to play catch-up, here were the roster moves the Yankees made over the course of Sunday.
— The Yankees had optioned both Danny Burawa and Jose De Paula back to Triple-A Scranton after they both pitchede in the 12-4 blow-out loss against the Detroit Tigers. Burawa gave up four runs in two-thirds of an inning and De Paula walked four in 3.1 innings.
— Unfortunate news for Jacob Lindgren: He has to undergo surgery to remove a couple bone spurs from his elbow. No timetable for his return yet, but it’s such a shame. He pitched ‘okay’ for the Yankees when he came up from the minor leagues, but he left a huge impression in his first outing by pitching two scoreless innings.
— The Yankees are expected to purchase the contracts of both Diego Moreno and Nick Rumbelow. They’ll both be on the roster tonight as the Yankees take on the Philadelphia Phillies at Yankee Stadium.
— The Yankees have moved Sergio Santos from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL. Santos is scheduled to undergo Tommy John Surgery and miss the rest of the 2015 season.
— The Yankees have placed Mason Williams on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his shoulder. Prior to yesterday’s game, the Yankees called up Ramon Flores.
