The Yankees have announced they have recalled Esmil Rogers from Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre. As a corresponding move, the Yankees have optioned Gregorio Petit to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre and have placed Slade Heathcott on the 60-day DL as the 40-man roster move.

The Yankees DFA’d and outrighted Rogers earlier this month after he showed major inconsistency within the last two months. Rogers had a 6.27 ERA in 18 games with the Yankees this season.

They have got to be kidding, Rogers has done next to nothing on the good side in his time with the Yanks, I thought they were past that points, I have a thought, any trde the team makes should be conditioned on the other team taking him as a part of the deal. .

Slade on 60 day DL? Oh Brother!

  3. Phil Pantuso says:

I cannot believe that they recalled Rogers, saw him pitch a few innings, needs to be traded. This clown does not deserve a second chance, terrible pitcher release is a better word to use than recall. Cashman needs to look at the combined batting average of the starters, yes the rotation needs some help, today they only got two hits. Drew needs to be released, he stinks to the high heavens.

Some people really get worked up over the back end of the bullpen.

  6. Balt Yankee says:

The Yankee Mgmt never tire of this guy. Meanwhile Brendan Pinder rookee has a sub-300 ERA in 9 innings this year. Hopefully Rogers will be released when Ellsbury returns.

Such comforting news. Now that we got Rogers back the Yankees are primed to go on a extended winning streak. Say what you will about Cashman but he certainly has an eye for talent.

The revolving door got them here…. Burawa, Martin, Pinder and Moreno are all ineligible (have not been down for at least 10 days). Lindgren on the DL. Ramirez threw 35 pitches on Friday, struggled and walked three. Rogers was really their only choice. They can bring him up, only pitch him in blowouts and then DFA him on Friday when Ellsbury is ready.
