Trade Rumors: Royals trade for Johnny Cueto; Yankees still interested in Hamels 18

Ladies and gentlemen, Johnny Cueto is officially off the trade market by a team that is hoping to get a second crack at the World Series.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Kansas City Royals have traded for Cueto with hopes of bolstering their starting rotation. The Yankees were previously linked to Cueto when they sent scouts to a start of his last month, but talks for Cueto weren’t particularly serious.

However, as of this morning the Yankees still have their eye on Cole Hamels who’s trade value went up after he threw a no-hitter against the Chicago Cubs yesterday afternoon.

KC just got better.Hamels stock just went up.Will the Yankees react? He did throw a no hitter but the two previous starts weren't that good.Hold steady,no need to panic. If the price is right,I say okay.Over pay like we usually do?I'm out

Gary Sanchez and mason Williams or Flores and another pitcher from single A will definetly do it

Folks need to make serious trade offers. Bottom line – to get a SP of the caliber of Hamels you're giving up 2 of your top 4. Maybe Price you could give up 1, but bottom line if you're looking to get that kind of talent, you need to offer a better deal than your competitors. This team looks like it will make the playoffs. I hate to give up prospects but you have to counter what KC just did and prepare yourself for a WS against a pitching staff like LAD or WAS, if you're serious about winning this year.

Always wanted Cole but certain blue chippers should be retained. Don't mortgage the long future for a chance at 1 ws appearance this year.

Cole Hamels is better off somewhere else to much money. If we do get Hamels we would get rid of good prospects those prospects will be are future. We have better luck getting Jeff Samardzjia from the white soxs.

You know Royals starters avg less innings then yanks starters per game so get another late inning reliver and by the 6 th inning game over

they would consider trading Gardner for Clayton Kershaw but nothing short of that kind of player moves Gardner…a guy like King Felix would get it done too…none of these scenarios have a chance of happening in 2015…

Why Gardner he has been the most constiston in the line up and he was an all star they need a second basemen so if they get a trade with the Reds like they would give up jr Murphy Stephan Drew and Ivan nova for Brandon Phillips and mike leake who is a very solid stater that would be a better trade and maybe since they will need a back up catcher the yanks could also get Bryan Pena in the deal at well
