Yankees defeat Orioles 3-2

With the Yankees and Orioles both battling in the American League East, this was one game the Yankees had to win. And with timely hitting and good pitching, the Yankees were able to defeat the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

The Yankees scored in the top of the first on an Alex Rodriguez SAC Fly. In the second, Chase Headley hit an RBI double and in the sixth, Brendan Ryan hit a game deciding RBI double.

Nathan Eovaldi gave up two runs on four hits in 5.2 innings of work. Justin Wilson pitched a scoreless inning, Dellin Betances pitched a scoreless eighth and Andrew Miller pitched a scoreless ninth.

Ivan Nova will take the mound with hopes of giving the Yankees a series win. Kevin Gausman will oppose for the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and the game will air on the YES Network.
