Yankees defeat Orioles 4-3

Ivan Nova had lost his last three starts and he needed to get back on track. With timely hits from the offense and good pitching from Nova, the team was able to take the series with a 4-3 win at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

The Yankees scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning on a Brett Gardner RBI single and a Mark Teixeira two-run homer. Alex Rodriguez gave the Yankees a bit of insurance in the fifth with a solo-shot to left-center.

Nova pitched six innings and gave up two runs on three hits with three strikeouts. Chasen Shreve pitched a scoreless seventh, Dellin Betances pitched a scoreless eighth and Andrew Miller gave up a run in the ninth, but was able to preserve the lead and get his 22nd save of the season.
