Yankees fall to Mariners 4-3

By sending Michael Pineda to the mound, the Yankees had a good chance to take the series from the Mariners. However, the Yankees were done in by their former second basemen Robinson Cano, who sent them to a 4-3 loss at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

The Yankees scored in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run homer by Brian McCann. The Yankees tacked on one more run in the ninth on a RBI groundout by Garrett Jones.

Michael Pineda started the game for the Yankees, giving up four runs in six innings of work and notching two strikeouts. Chasen Shreve pitched 1.2 scoreless innings and Adam Warren pitched 1.1 scoreless innings.

— The Yanees and Mariners will battle it out during the series finale at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees will send CC Sabathia to the mound and the Mariners will counter with Felix Hernandez. First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. and the game will air on WPIX 11.
