Brian McCann returns to the Yankees lineup after MCL sprain

After sitting out for two days with a MCL sprain, Yankees catcher Brian McCann is back in the starting lineup to begin a three game set against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.

McCann is going to wear a knee brace until his knee fully heals from the sprain but he’s just thankful that he wasn’t out of the lineup longer than the rest of the Red Sox series. McCann also added in his concern as a catcher when he said felt something twitch in his knee while behind the plate during the seventh inning of Monday’s contest.

McCann injured his knee after trying to block a Dellin Betances curveball in the dirt.
