Ladies and gentleman, Nick Swisher is a Yankee again…sort of.
Despite the Yankees and Nick Swisher agreeing on a minor-league deal last week, the move wasn’t official until today since the Yankees had to review Swisher’s physical. Swisher is slated to report to Scranton today where he’ll join the RailRiders starting lineup on Thursday.
“I’m one of those lucky guys that gets an opportunity to come back and try to prove myself again.” Swisher said after the minor league deal was completed.
Swisher has a June 15th opt-out clause if he doesn’t make the majors, and despite MLB scouts saying that Nick Swisher’s legs are completely gone, the Yankees decided to get a free look for themselves. The team doesn’t have to pay Swisher any of the $15 Million hes owed from his four-year contract this season.
