Yankees activate CC Sabathia from DL

Ladies and gentlemen, CC Sabathia is back!

The New York Yankees have officially announced Sabathia has been activated from the 15-day disabled list. As the corresponding move, the Yankees have sent James Pazos to Triple-A Scranton/Wikes-Barre, which means Rob Refsnyder is still with the team.

The new question is…when will the Yankees actually use Refsnyder?

As for Sabathia, he will start tonight and oppose Sonny Gray and the Oakland Athletics. First pitch is at 9:35 p.m.

Some Notes

— After being DFA’d last week, Phil Coke has been outrighted to Triple-A/Scranton-Wilkes Barre.

— Former first-round draft pick Ty Hensley will undergo a second Tommy John surgery, which will effectively end his 2016 campaign. Hensley has had a string of bad luck over the last few seasons, which included a first Tommy John Surgery.

— Earlier today, the Yankees signed LHP Neal Cotts to a minor league deal and sent him to Scranton. Cotts last pitched for the Minnesota Twins last season, where he pitched to a 3.95 ERA in 13.2 innings. The signing was made as the Yankees experience depth issues due to injuries.
